Mary's Circle in 2007

In Mary’s Circle this year, we’ll be continuing the focus on Harvest Festival; the banquet so lavishly spread before us all where God and human kind "at table are sat down". This feast, where host and guest share holy hospitality, is truly a banquet on a cosmic scale. A banquet called Creation. A banquet we call home. (Read more about Harvest Thanksgiving in our parish or more about Mary's Circle.)

Up for discussion will be some everyday decisions and dilemmas as to how should we, how could we, share more generously with the poor, the hungry and the dispossessed? How do we set about doing our part in healing our planet when the feast is being threatened and attacked by violent, greedy and sacrilegious guests. And what's the best price for a 10k bag of Laucke's unbleached organic white bread flour?!

Mary's Circle 'sitting at table'

Yes, we'll sit at table, eating bread and honey, special birthday cakes and everyday sandwiches. Sharing, breaking bread with our companions at Mary's Circle.
(Companion: meaning, someone who breaks bread with you. …"cum"-together with- and "panis"- bread.) Why? Because at this feast of our lives, we are celebrating…

"We who are many are one body in Christ
for we all share in the one bread".
