An ecumenical service for the World Day of Prayer was held at the Good Shepherd Church in Ringwood on Friday the 2nd March.

The theme for this year was “United under God’s Tent" and the focus country was Paraguay. The President, Ann Connan’s message explained that the idea of a tent, cloak or mantle sheltering and protecting us is used by the women of Paraguay to remind us that God’s love covers all the world, and therefore unites God’s people everywhere.

This theme of God’s people being tent people and God needing a tent to be present with and in the midst of his people, was explored by Pastor Stephen in his message. We meet God in Jesus Christ, God’s tent in the world and we are united under one tent, Jesus.

A choir of children from the Good Shepherd Primary School sang before the prayer of intercession and prayers for the needs of the local community.
