What some Christians do before church…
- Try to do as many of the tension-creating chores as possible on Saturday:
- Decide what to wear and lay out clothing
- Have Bibles, hymnbooks and offering ready
- Have as much of breakfast ready as possible
- Have music and instrument packed and ready, practice done
- Have any encouragement letters ready
- Think of your own preparations here...
- If they know what the Bible readings/and or sermon text will be, read through the texts, discuss them, and try to anticipate what they may hear
- Pray for their Pastor, worship and education leaders, others attending worship, people who choose not to attend worship
- Ask God to make their heart receptive to his teaching and to strengthen and help them through their worship experience
- On the way to church play a favourite Christian tape or CD
- Discuss who will be there Sunday morning: peers, younger children, adults, god-parents.
