Celebrating Christian Unity: Pre-Pentecost Festival

This annual event will take place on Sun 20 May at 2:30pm, at the Anglican Church of St John the Divine, 5 Toorak Avenue, Croydon.  The 13 churches in the Maroondah Fellowship of Churches are each invited to take part by presenting a short song/drama/reading/etc.  Come along & be inspired and encouraged in your Christian lives, and strengthen the bonds of Christian fellowship over cake and refreshments.

Conflict Coaching - 4,5 May

A workshop to grow in the gracious gospel art of biblical reconciliation is being held by Pastor Bruce Zagel on 4-5 May, at St John Geelong Lutheran Church, 165 Yarra St, Geelong.  Cost $99 includes all books & materials required; lunch, morning & afternoon tea provided.  Sessions 8:30am-5:30pm both days.  Registrations due 1 May. [No-one who has done this course has been disappointed—Pastor Greg Pietsch, District President.]

Christian Life Week 2012

CLW is an awesome time where people aged 12-18 come to have fun, meet new people in a Christian community, get outdoors, enjoy worship services and grow in faith during small group time. It's held at Tandara Lutheran Campsite in Halls Gap and costs $190.

This year's theme is: "White Noise - hearing God through the static".

The dates for 2012 are:

Help Needed at Council Welcome Centre

Mr Murray Graham is seeking committed Christians who would like to support the work of providing a Christian presence in the Maroondah City Council Welcome Centre, at 4 Melbourne Street, Ringwood.  The current team is becoming smaller as original volunteers become unable to continue.  The Centre provides tea, coffee, and an opportunity for helpful conversation, from 10am to 2pm Mon to Fri.  Even a couple of hours support provided regularly would be helpful.  Please contact Murray on 9801 7713 if you are interested, or visit the centre.

'Retirement Village' Carers Needed

We need more carers for Good Shepherd Retirement Village. It is very important that we resource this ministry of the Ringwood congregation. Please speak to Peter Renner or Charlie Reif for more information, or contact the Parish Office.

'Martin Luther Homes' Dementia Carers Needed

Martin Luther Homes are needing volunteers to work with an increasing number of Dementia residents. Every person (young and old) willing to give some of their time to this rewarding experience, is invited to participate in their new volunteer program. The way you can be involved is quite diverse, does not require experience or special training and can be as simple as walking residents to the garden or taking them to church. If you feel this is a way in which you can serve our wider community, please contact Gabrielle Papeneux on 9760 2184.
